Defining Features of 2-OA:
- Similar reactivity to 2-EHA
- Can be used in both standard and high-performance applications
- Made from bio-based, non-edible raw materials (i.e. castor oil)
- Can be applied to a wide range of applications, for example:
- Improved scrub resistance in coatings
- Improved shear resistance in adhesives
- Excellent weatherability
- Significantly lower skin irritation compared to 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate (2-EHA), even though both products have the same molecular weight. As a result, 2-OA enhances operators’ safety.
- Balanced solvency and a Tg of -47° C
- Wide regulatory approvals, including TSCA (Confidentially Active); EU (EINECS) Inventory; Japan ENCS; Taiwan TCSI.
