An Open Letter to Policy Makers about Tariffs

May 7, 2025

At Teckrez, we’re proud of our journey as an American entrepreneurial success story. Since our founding in 2006, we’ve built a thriving business supplying specialized resins—critical raw materials for adhesives, sealants, and paints—to manufacturers across the U.S.

Over the years, we’ve grown steadily by partnering with reliable global suppliers and investing in innovation. Our products support a wide range of industries, from food packaging to automotive and aerospace, helping our customers deliver quality, performance, and consistency.

However, recent tariff increases on key raw materials—some exceeding 170%—are threatening the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers. These resins are not widely produced domestically, making imports essential. The new tariffs significantly raise costs, forcing some companies to reformulate products, reduce production, or consider moving operations abroad.

We urge policymakers to recognize the unintended consequences of these trade actions. Without a practical exemption process for essential inputs, these tariffs risk weakening—not strengthening—U.S. manufacturing. Teckrez will participate in the Alliance for Chemical Distributors (ACD) Washington DC fly-in on May 14-15.

We’ve created short videos to share more about our story and the real-world impact of these changes. I invite you to contact me if you want to learn more and join the conversation; info@teckrez.com.
