Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning Lead

3. Conduct MRP planning and execution through generation of inventory

Detailed Responsibilities/ Key Outcomes:

  • Guide and execute the Sales Inventory and Operations Planning process in alignment with organizational goals and objectives to improve/optimize DIOH relative to customer service level requirements and sales forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Product Management teams to deliver more accurate sales demand forecasts based on market trends, customer demand, and historical data analysis.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, and Logistics teams to align inventory levels and distribution channels with sales demand forecasts which improve overall cost per unit delivered.
  • Lead cross-functional SI&OP meetings to review demand plans, supply constraints, and financial implications, and facilitate decision-making to resolve conflicts and mitigate risks.
  • Participate with Supply Network Planning to optimize the distribution network, minimize transportation costs, and enhance supply chain service and reliability (OTIF).
  • Drive the implementation of SI&OP software systems and tools to enhance forecasting accuracy, data visibility, and decision support capabilities to insure all planning activities are performed in ERP/MRP systems/tools.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on SI&OP performance, including forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and financial impact, while executing continuous improvement mindset to stated goals and metrics.
  • Lead SI&OP training sessions and workshops to build organizational capability and foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration and accountability.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to SI&OP / recommend appropriate actions to maintain competitive advantage and compliance for our customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications, Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales, inventory and operations planning, demand forecasting, supply chain management, and supply network planning, preferably in the chemical industry or a related manufacturing/distribution sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. Experience with ERP systems is required (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, SAP, Datacor) and advanced planning SI&OP software is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functional and organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of driving change, fostering innovation, and delivering results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) or SI&OP/SNP (e.g., IBF CPF) is a plus.
