I want to take a moment to talk about AI — artificial intelligence.
Over the last year, I’ve used AI to help write a few of these newsletters.
I know… feel free to gasp.
When I have the time, I still prefer writing them myself and sharing what we’re seeing from the front lines at Teckrez. And interestingly, those fully human, from-the-heart notes usually get the highest engagement. There’s something about a real human voice that AI just can’t replicate.
But I also want to acknowledge something important.
AI isn’t just a shiny productivity tool. Across our industry, it’s also creating real change — and sometimes real disruption. We’re seeing companies rethink staffing and processes, and that can be tough and personal for the people affected. Technology should make work better for people, not make people feel disposable.
That’s how I try to think about it.
For me, AI isn’t a replacement for people — it’s a support tool. Something that helps clear the busywork so we can spend more time doing the parts of the job that require experience, judgment, and relationships.
So how am I using it? Nothing fancy. Just everyday efficiency.
• Draft an email → “make smooth” or “make concise”
• Prep slides → quick talking points in seconds
• Analyze data → flag trends, sort invoices, or surface dormant opportunities
Ten extra seconds of AI cleanup often saves minutes (or hours) of manual work.
It’s not doing the thinking for me — it’s helping me think better by removing the clutter.
Less time sorting spreadsheets, more time with customers.
Less admin, more strategy.
That’s a trade I’ll take every time.
Talk soon,
Olivia
